The generation of required irradiance distribution in a rectangle area is one of the keyproblems arising in the design of street, home, and industrial lighting systems. This problemcan be efficiently solved by using LED light sources with led glass lens thatredistribute the light flux and generate the required irradiance distribution. The problem ofsecondary optic design consists in the computation of optical surface shapes. The solution tothis problem results in the solving of nonlinear differential equations in partial derivatives,similar to the Monge–Ampere equation .
