1.other指除去一部分后的另一（些）,但不是剩下的全体,后面加名词,常作定语.

Do you see other children?你看见其他的学生们了吗?

2.the other指一定范围内除去一部分后其余的全体,后面加名词,常作定语.

I have three pets,one is a dog,the other two are cats.我有三只宠物,一只是狗,另外两只是猫.

3.others表示除去一部分后的另一些,不是剩下的全体.常用作代词,后面不加名词.

These apples are bed.Give me some others.这些苹果是坏的,请另外给我些吧.

4.the others表示一定范围内除去一部分以外,剩余的全体,用作代词,后不能加名词.

These men are from Japan and the others are from America.这些人来自日本,其他人来自美国.

5.another(=an other),别的、另一个、泛指众多中的一个,一般后面接单数名词,前面不能加定冠词.

例：I don’t like this one,Show me another.(another做宾语)
