as在这里作连词,引导方式状语从句.
as引导方式状语从句时,意为“如同……”､“按照……的方式(样子,办法)”.
We must obey the items as stipulated in the contract.
完整形式如下:
We must obey the items as stipulated in the contract.
因为状语从句中items与主句中的items 重复,要不省略,要不就用代词替代前面相同部分但从句谓语仍要保留.但as引导的状语从句多采用省略形式(省略主语和be动词)这是习惯用法.
(2)当然此句as前可加一个逗号,使其成为一个由as引导的非限制性定语从句.
We must obey the items,as are stipulated in the contract.
注:这里as引导非限制性定语从句并替代先行词 "items" 在从句中做主语成分.
P.S
as的用法的确很广泛,但句法功能主要如下:
引导状语从句(比较,方式,原因,时间状语从句等)
引导定语从句(在限制性定语从句中,如果要用as引导定语从句,先行词必须有such ,the same,so 修饰,在非限制性定语从句中虽无此限制但要注意与关系词which的区别,这里就不再赘述)
