Never take things for granted, for, when you lose them, you will regret. Sadly, there are many things today that we take for granted. Simple things like your grandparents, they are treated as burdens and left in nursing homes. The Chinese have a saying, the aged are full of wisdom, to have one in the house is akin to having treasure under one's roof. Our parents, for example, are another thing we take for granted. They would always be there for us, through thick and thin. We take their soothing presence as granted and disrespect them, sometimes even engaging in arguments with them. When we lose them, we begin to lament about the things that we could have done for them. We sob about the things that our parents have yet to acheive. Alas, it would be too late. Treat everyday as if it was your last day, treasure all those around you. Never take things for granted, count your blessings and treat them as the treasures they are.
