With social progress and the improving of our life level, there have been great changes in our daily life. However, those changes include not only many good things but also some very worrying issue. Recently, one of social phenomena, teenage smoking, arouse people’s attention. As the data shown in the following paragraph, the number of youngsters smoking cigarettes has increased dramatically, and the age of teenagers beginning to smoke become much younger. There are many factors that cause teenage smoking.Firstly, curiosity can usually contribute to teenager smoking. The youth passing into adolescent always think themselves as adult, no more children. Burning with curiosity, they want to try every new thing. When seeing their parents or playmates taking cigarette, they will try to imitate for considering it as a sign of being maturity.Secondly, vanity is mainly another reason. By some teleplays and movies, teenager sees superstars whom they worship smoke, so they think it a modern, handsome, and attractive behavior. Moreover, some girls say: “smoking posture is very charming, and only the man who smoke can be said a real man.” So, in order to win the girls’ love, boys smoke regardless harm to health. Thirdly, misunderstanding the harmfulness of smoking always could explain. Many youths figure that smoking can take off tiredness, refresh, be better to mental labor. Therefore, they want to relieve the study stress by smoking. They think that the advertisement publicizing the danger of smoking is mendacious.All in all, the reasons for teenage smoking are various. What the society should do to solve this problem is to strength education and publicizing. Also, the parents should be a example of their children. They, themselves should give up to smoking, leaving a good environment for their next generation.
