1、lose one’s heart 是“爱上了”的意思,需要用介词to说明爱的对象,如：
Jim lost his heart to the Persian cat at first sight．
(Jim一看见那只波斯猫就喜欢得不得了.)
2、lose heart 却表示“丧失信心”或“情绪低落”,例如：
Don’t lose heart；make another try．(不要灰心,再试一回.)
3、物主代词的问题
顺便说一下,通过上面的例子我们可以发现,在一些词组中有没有物主代词,意思相差很大.例如：在表示“掉磅”时,不应该用 one's :
I have been losing weight in the past two weeks．
同样,“增加体重" put on weight 或 gain weight 也没有物主代词；“丢面子”是 lost face,“失去优势”是 lose ground.这些词组里都没有 one's.
但“惊慌失措”却是lose one's head,“发火”是lose one's temper,“迷路”是lose one's way.
