1.选B if not better than 在这里不是插入语,而是一个省略的条件状语从句.整个完整的句子应该是If he doesn't play football better than John,he plays football as well as John.如果他踢球踢得没有约翰好,至少和他一样好.
as well表示也要放在句末.如果是否定句,就不用as well了,要用either,也是放在句末.
2.从意思上说,hope是希望,实现的可能性较大,wish是愿望、祝愿,实现的可能性较小.
从用法上说,hope + to do （注意hope sb to do是错的）
+ that从句
wish + to do
+ sb to do
+ that从句(从句要用过去时表示虚拟语气)
