In your last e-mail,you showed a great interest in our National Stadium-the Bird`s Nest.Now i`d like to introduce it to you.
Located on North Fourth Ring Road in Beijing,the Bird`s Nest covers an area of 58000 square meters,with a seating capacity of about 90 thousand.Its construction was started in December,2003 and completed in 2007.It looks just like a bird`s nest made of tree branches.During the Olympic Games,we will host the track and field events and soccer matches there.After the Games it will be used for large-scale events.
The Bird`s Nest is thought highly of by officials and experts all over the world.The former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan sang high praise for its design,saying that it will be an incredible symbolism in the history of the global Games.
