Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta var.chinensis Roem) is one of ten Chinese classical famous flower and highly appreciated,it is an important exports to get foreign exchange as well.
Beside Zhangzhou,Fujian:Chongming,Shanghai,where the major bulbs are produced,growing wildly Chinese narcissuses was found on several islands along seashore of Zhejiang,Fujian.Nine growing wildly species were collected from Zhujiajian island(ZJJ),Putuo mountain (PT),Zhejiang province; Qingshan island(QS),Ninde county,Daxiyang island(DXY),Xiapu county,Beinanting (BNL),Pingtang county,Nanri island (NR),Xiluopang island (XLP),Putian city,Fujian province; Chongming island (CM),Shanghai city,Tonghai county (TH),Yunnan province.For studying the phylogenetic relationship among Chinese narcissuses growing wildly and cultivated in Zhangzhou District for years,the peroxidase isozymes were examined.
