The Cartesian Doubt is the principle of Descartes' methodology. As a matter of fact, the Cartesian Doubt is also the process of being skeptical about methodology itself, which is for the purpose of acquiring indubitable truth and genuine knowledge. He believes that among the knowledge we acquired previously, some is genuine, but some is false. Thus Descartes starts to doubt all things, in order to acquire a firm foundation for genuine knowledge. He always doubts, till he doubts his own existence. However, he thought that "if I do not exist, then how come I am thinking right here?" Therefore, the famous philosophical statement "I think, therefore I am" ("Cogito ergo sum") was concluded.
