1.此句非宾语从句,而是there be句型的动名词复合结构.
所谓动名词复合结构,即在动名词短语doing sth前面加上该动作的逻辑主语,其结构可以表达为：sb/sth/one's/there doing sth；
而there be句型的逻辑主语就是there,所以就是there being...；
dream of后面一般只加名词/代词/动名词短语,不加宾语从句,此时只单独在dream后面加宾语从句.
如：I dreamed that I was killed by somebody last night.
2.dream of中的of是介词,所以后面加动名词短语即dream of doing sth.
如果换成动名词复合结构即dream of sb/sth/one's/there doing sth.
3.如果直接用dream of being...,则翻译不通：我从来就没有梦想过是（be）喧闹城市中的如此一个安静的地方.
所以改用dream of there being...,则翻译为：我从来就没有梦想过在这个喧闹城市中有如此安静的地方（在某处有某物即there be）.
4.there be句型还有不定式的符合结构：for there to be...
如：I want there to be a desk near the door in my room.
把for there to be...视为for sb to do sth的变种即可.
