Hundreds of people immigrate to the United States of America everyday in hopes of a better life. For most of them, their journey to America is far more horrible than expected, and usually it ends in death. (这句话不知道你中文原意是什么?是“经常以死亡结束”吗?)

What people don’t realize is that the procedure of immigration in domestic may be very easy but the life after immigration may be out of expectation. . Moreover, in the fiction novel, The Tortilla Curtain, the author, T. Coraghessan Boyle, concepts of how difficult immigrants can have it (这句话中文是什么?英文看不懂……人们没有意识到,移民是简单的；而且,在xxx的小说里面,然后不懂了.); in fact, no matter in book or real life, no matter legal immigration or illegal one, the three most common problems that the immigrants face are: the difficulty to find jobs; unsafe living environment and personal safety.

They come to America in order to have a good life. Yet, unfortunately, most of the immigrants are live like the two characters, Candido and America, in the novel, because they have to avoid the officials, they can not refer to help even they face difficulty. For instances, candido was beat and got badly hurt, but he could not go to the doctor’s; there are many girls like America who sometimes may suffer sexual harassment by the stranger or even may be raped, however, because of their identification, they can not refer to help.. And the worst thing is when their baby is sick they can not do anything because they do not have social status and enough money. Candido and America lead a hard life but there are many more immigrant families living like them in real world. They have no decent house but even live in shack. And they are easily kited with nothing can protect them. They emerge by themselves and perish by themselves. It is just a matter of time because even if they encounter with problems they are not able to solve them. It is very bad for one’s life. I think immigrants can help each other, for an example, avoiding being alone. Try to avoid the occurrence of problems at the begging but not think about solution after it happens.

In the end, I think the immigrants should think what is the best for themselves - the purpose for them to come to America is improve their life- to live better than in their own country.
