As far as I'm concerned,the preliminary objective in the course of learning Buddhism and practising ascetisim is to establish a mature conviction system,in which modern people can gradually notice and grasp the meaning of such Buddhist values:rising above all; remaining undisturbed both in the face of honor and disgrace,unconcerned with personal gains and losses,indifferent to fame and wealth; pursuing tranquility and inaction; doing nothing out of obstinacy but benevolence.Only by this means can we cultivate a state of mind aloof from hustle and bustle and come back in pursuit of the worldly success with diligence and tenacity.Hence,with this state of mind,we can resist any temptation regardless of its form,keep optimistic in any worst-case-scenario and unremittlingly enrich our lives with tranquility and harmony and reach the sound and complete stage of life,which leads to the final destination of all our goals of life:reaching the stage of life which features doing nothing out of obstinacy but benevolence,clarifying our mind and preventing it from being tainted by outer distracting thoughts,keeping free,natural,neutral and abiding by the law of non-interference.
