(使.确信),如果事物做主语,一般多用于过去式.

Invetigation assured us of the reliability of the plan.

(向.保证).

I can assure you of the availability of sources.

也可用于人寿保险.you are assured of the life insurance.

make sure:查实,确信,弄懂的意思.但和上述用法不一样.

在这里,make 是动词,sure 是其宾语.因此语句的组成要和其结构搭配.sure 后面多跟of 或者表语从句.

Please make sure (that) you leave on time.Make sure that you don't change mind.

Make sure of the time and place.

insure多用与保险.
