1,have no choice to do sth.(前面无do,后面有to) 2,do nothing but to do sth.(前面有do,后面没to)所谓的do和to不同时用,do必须是用作实义动词,这里do就是do这个词本身,而不是把do用作代表其他动词.在nothing but句型中,有do无to是指nothing 前有do的任何形式出现,but后的动词前就不能出现to,如:He did nothing but piddle away the time.他不做事,只是混日子.He could do nothing but stand and wonder.他只得惊奇地站著不动.在nothing but句型中,无do有to是指nothing 前没有do的任何形式出现,but后的动词前就要出现to,如:Now I want nothing but to go off to the Western Hills.This man lives for nothing but to gather money.这个人的一生除了聚财以外别无目地.
