译作“外置”或“外位”.这是个复合词,字典里大概查不到.前缀extra-表示“从外面,在外面”.

我们常见的主语都居于句首.但有些句子里确实置于句末：例如：
In the house is a teacher.
房子里是老师.
More urgent is the question of rescuing the chidren.
最要紧的是救下孩子.
例子为了修辞的需要,如为了强调,加重语气,将主语倒置在动词之后.这就被称作“外置（extraposted）”.正常的语序你应该知道吧?
还有一类特殊而且重要的外置就是it做形式主语,而将实际主语后置.例如：
It is good to do that.
这当然是为了句子结构的优化而产生的异常句式.因为正常说法应该是：
To do that is good.
当然,外置并不都是出于文风修辞的考虑,有些也是必须：
It seems that he is not a bad man.
这种句式我们就不会说：
That he is not a bad man seems.
