我认为 books 不是 类似 汉语中 的量词 而是名词
所以 应该说 I have three more books than you (do）
more 是形容词 修饰名词
如果 用
I have books more than you (do）我有比你有多的书
more than you (do）是定语
I have more books than you (do）
这 两句 都可以
加上three books表示程度 就不好理解 因为 books 不具备 量词 特征
I have three books more than you (do）
只能 解释 more是代词作宾语 three books 是定语
所以这句话 不太好 理解
如果是主系表 结构 名词具有量词特征 就可以起副词作用 表示程度
如 he is two years older than you.
years 具有量词特征 所以 two years 就起副词作用 修饰比较级 表示程度.
所以 如果用 主系表 结构
my books are three more than yours.
three 可以看做状语 修饰形容词 more 表示程度
