1.固定的两者中,任取其一用one,所余的用the other.如：

I have two brothers; one is a doctor and the other(is) a teacher.

我有两个兄弟；一个是医生,另一个是教师.

2.三者以上,任取其一用one,所余的（复数）用the others(=the rest)如：

One of them was a boy,the others were girls.

3.三者以上,任取其一用one,再任取其一用another表示“又一、再一”之意.如：

I’ll come to see you at another time.

我改天再来看你.

[注1]another只能接（可数）单数名词,other则可接复数名词、单数名词或不可数名词.如：another book另一本书；other information其他的消息；other people其他人.
