1. 2(came)
此题很容易误选成1.但是分析句子结构,we have been looking forward to其实是定语从句修饰the day,所以句子缺少谓语动词,再结合时间状语at last,所以该选2. came.
2. 选4(appeared)
appear有个特点,它表明“看起来似乎...”,但其实隐含了“实际上却并非如此”的含义,而这正好与句意完全符合.
但是我估计楼主你是否少打或打错字了,因为定语从句这个动词应该用复数形式（因为who代替的是these men,而非one）,但是你打的是appears,如此就没有答案了.

1）very 关键：just the + 名词=the very + 名词,翻译为“就是...”.
2）to whom 因为whom相当于先行词person.刚好定语从句的动词是spoke,形成短语spoke to the very person,也就是spoke to whom.
4. 选1（where）
同上句,把先行词a situation放入后面的定语从句中,构成句子：
This idiom can be used in a situation.
in a situation=in which=where,也就是所谓的关系副词=介词+关系代词.
5. 选4（which/as）
后面是个非限制性定语从句.只有as/which有这种特殊用法：它们能代替整个主句,做非限制性定语从句中的某个成分.
在次句中,which/as=主句the moon travels round the earth once every month,再相当与定语从句（ ）is known to everybody.中的主语.
