两者均可表示“听说”,但 about 含有关于的意思,便侧重其内容的了解,而hear of可能只是间接的听说；另外,hear of 还可以表示“允许”“考虑”等,此时不能用 hear about.hear about 听说,得知.如：I’ve never heard about him (this).我从未听人说起过他(这件事).Have you heard about Jim coming here?你听说了吉姆要来这里吗?hear of(1) 听说,得知.如：Have you ever heard of him (this)?你听说过他(这件事)吗?I’ve never heard of anyone doing a thing like that.我从未听人说过会有人做那种事.(2) 允许,考虑(用于否定句,尤与 won’t 等连用).如：He wouldn’t hear of my going away.他不让我走.She just won’t hear of such an idea.她完全不同意这样一个想法.
