above和over的区别!

表示一般"在上" 用above
表示比较精确地靠近地"垂直在上",用over.
1.比如
His office is above ours on the second floor.
(他的办公室在我们的二楼).
注意,说话的人很可能在地下一层或者二层,只是表达,那个人的办公室在他们的上面,不一定恰好在他们上面.
The summit of that mountain is 8800 meters above
sea-level.(那座山峰海拔8800米高).
注意,只是表示海拔,不表示垂直于,上.
His office is right over ours.(他的办公室就在我们头上的房间).注意,是垂直在上.
2.仅仅表示上下次序用above,有蒙起来或者遍及全面的含义时用over.
比如:
put this book above the other one.(把这本书放在那本书的上面).
spread the tablecloth over the table(把桌布铺在桌上).
